Lifescape
In the summer of 2025 I filmed across various landscapes in Exmoor and West Somerset with Alice Ladenburg on her piece of work titled LIFESCAPE. The exhibition combines LiDAR scanning technology by Jens Van Der Zee and filmed footage of the non-human world. Blending art and science, the show aims to deepen our understanding of our shared planet and to imagine possible futures at this time of ecological uncertainty.
Animated with Ollie Palmer the LiDAR images allow the viewer to soar over, under and within landscapes. To complement their vast, spectral quality, Alice and I focused on filming details in the landscapes. We used old macro lenses. The goal was to create intimate, textural perspectives, to evoke our sensorial conection to the non-human world. An immersive soundscape was design by Leo Cauteruccio.
